Jellyfish Video - ten for the price of one!
Regular client top-end fish tank specialists Aquarium Architecture recently commissioned us to shoot their latest creations in Manchester. The two huge salt water tanks were made for the Chaophraya Group of Thai restaurants and are believed to be the largest private jellyfish tanks in the UK.
The filming day was divided into two. In the morning at Chaophraya restuarant we filmed the arrival of the latest tank - fresh off the boat from the USA where it was manufactured. But getting a 750kg tank made from 4 inch thick perspex from a lorry up to its new home on the second floor was no easy matter. Specialist movers Speedrite were employed to take it that crucial final 50m and it involved a crane, a trolley, a couple of jacks and multiple bits of wood…
Once the first tank was safely installed we nipped across Manchester to the sister restaurant ChaoBaby and filmed the afternoon / evening service, complete with the well-established jellyfish tank in all its glory.

What made the project slightly different from usual was that the cost was divided amongst all the companies who were involved in the re-fit of the Chaophraya restaurants. From designers to surveyors and lighting installers (and of course Aquarium Architecture), 10x companies came together to create the restaurants and they also had a piece of the video for their marketing purposes.
